When you connect the player to a PC, • is

play media ﬁles on the player, switch off the

USB storage function. Drag down the status

bar and tap to switch off the USB storage

function (see ‘Status bar and notiﬁcation pull-

down list’ on page 13).

Install Philips Device Manager

The ﬁrst time you connect Connect to a PC,

install Philips Device Manager on the PC. Over

the Internet, you can update the ﬁrmware of

the player through Philips Device Manager.

When you connect the player to the PC for

the ﬁrst time, a pop-up screen is displayed:

1 Select InstallPhilips Device Manager.

2 Follow the onscreen instructions to

complete the installation of the software.

The installation requires you to agree to the •

license terms.

If the pop-up window is not displayed

automatically:

1 Select My Computer (Windows XP /

Windows 2000) / Computer (Windows

Vista / Windows 7).

2 Right click on the Philips GoGear

Connect icon.

3 Select Install Philips Device Manager.

Charge power

Connect has a built-in battery that can be

charged through the USB connector of a

computer, or the supplied USB power adapter.

By using the USB cable, connect the player to a

PC, or the supplied USB power adapter.
